A big congrats to Izaak Sacrebleu on his first exhibition with Coldstream Fine Art. Victorian Revival was well-received by all of our friends and guests. We look forward to what Izaak has in store for us in the future!

Coldstream Fine Art is pleased to present new work by Toronto-based painter Izaak Sacrebleu in his second solo exhibition, Victorian Revival. Drawing his subject matter for the most part from art and design history, Sacrebleu’s work serves as a dialogue between the tropes of contemporary painting and our generation’s tendency to dwell on nostalgic imageries. The result is a body of work that poses nostalgia as a symptom of the reluctance to our newfound excess of information.
Exhibition Dates: August 10th - September 16th, 2017
Public Opening: August 10th, 2017 from 6pm - 9pm
FEATURED IN COLDSTREAM FINE ART'S PROJECT SPACE
Structures of Perception: Mara Gajic
Curated by Christine McLean
Through conceptual play with language and personal symbolism, the bodies of work, Figure/Form and Small Talk, seek to illuminate possible structures of perception, while acknowledging the role of photography as an alternate, optical universe. Mara Gajic is a Toronto-based artist and graduate of OCAD University. Her image-based practice is driven by elements of performance to explore open narratives of self-construct, personal psychology and the quiet space between imagination and reality.
Coldstream Fine Art is pleased to present the work of New York-based painter Gareb Shamus in his first Canadian exhibition, Squeezed. The artworks that comprise this body of work are the culmination of meticulous planning and execution. Gareb plans out patterns, colours, and shapes and then carefully applies thick droplets of paint to form meaningful works of art.
Exhibition Dates: July 8th - August 2nd, 2017
Public Opening: July 8th, 2017 with Artist Talk at 3:30pm

Big thanks to CBC Arts and Leah Collins for covering our upcoming Contact group photography exhibition: This City II. The piece features six of the fourteen photographers in the exhibition and does a great job delving into the motivations behind their work and the philosophy behind this exhibition.

We had such a wonderful time at the 11th annual Art Gems auction this week in Toronto! The event surpassed its goal and raised $190,000!!! These funds benefit Creative Works Studio, an initiative which offers arts-based activities and involvement for those suffering with mental illness. Art therapy! We were so happy to have contributed pieces to the auction (from Harrison Taylor and Alex Landon Richardson), and congratulate all the artists, participants, and attendees on their much-needed generosity. The more supported and normalized mental illness becomes, the more healing can take place.
Coldstream Fine Art will be closed for the long weekend on April 14th and 15th. We will reopen on Tuesday, April 18th. Happy holidays to all!
