Barry Oretsky

Barry Oretsky is one of North America's foremost Realist painters. He was born in Owen Sound, Ontario in 1946, and received his early training at Toronto's Central Technical School. He furthered his studies at St. Martin's School of Art, London, England. Barry left a teaching position to pursue his art career full-time in 1986. He has been showing in major galleries in Canada, the United States, and Europe since then. In March of 2004, in recognition of his demonstrated excellence and achievements, Barry was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA). Barry continues to travel internationally to discover much of his art's subject matter. He currently resides in Toronto and works from his home studio at Dundas & Ossington.
